5 Minute Granola

Coach and Bonnie reinvented oatmeal and made it possible to enjoy steel-cut texture and taste in fewer than five minutes, so I decided there had to be a way to enjoy homemade granola that quickly. At Coach’s Oats we love fresh granola (Gold Medal Granola & Grotto's on-the-go Granola); it’s such an easy and healthful snack. However, the downfall to making such a large batch is the preparation time. To make the right granola you have to watch it carefully and be sure to stir it periodically to prevent burning.

On the mornings or afternoons when you run out of fresh Coach’s Oats granola and only have 7 minutes, this recipe will be perfect.

5 Minute Peanut Butter Granola
·         ¼ cup Coach’s Oats®
·         1 Tbsp. rolled oats
·         1 Tbsp + ½ tsp. all natural peanut butter (see note)
·         1 ½ tsp. maple syrup
·         Sprinkle of cinnamon

*Note: The amount of natural peanut butter you use depends on the moisture content. If it’s at the beginning of the jar with plenty of oil, 1 Tbsp. will do fine. If it’s a half-empty jar and is more dry, more peanut butter may be needed.

Mix all ingredients well on a microwave safe plate. Spread ingredients evenly in a single layer, flat along the plate (not one large pile). Microwave at 70% for 5 -6 minutes, stopping every minute to mix the granola. 

Top with strawberry yogurt, eat plain or mix with a handful of nuts for a delicious snack.
