A recent
article published by Shape Magazine
highlighted some of the best and worst foods for a flatter mid-section. Any
extra help to get a trimmer waistline is worth trying out. We incorporated a
few of the highlighted “best” foods and put them together to form a
yummy-flat-tummy snack.
The featured
ingredients in this recipe are Coach’s Oats and white whole wheat flour to
boost the whole grain factor. Canola oil supplies a monounsaturated fat and
apple cider vinegar splashed with milk adds fat fighters. Serve with Greek
yogurt for an extra tummy trimming snack!

Flat Belly
Bites
- · 1 ½ cups Coach’s Oats®
- · 1 ½ cups fat free milk
- · 1 ½ Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- · 2 eggs (beaten)
- · ¾ cup brown sugar
- · ¼ cup canola oil
- · ¼ cup applesauce
- · 2 tsp. vanilla
- · 1 ½ cup white whole wheat flour
- · 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
- · ¾ tsp. baking soda
- · ½ tsp. salt
- · Frozen blueberries
Preheat oven
to 400°.
Pour vinegar
into a measuring cup and fill the rest with milk until reaching 1 ½ cups total.
Allow milk to sit for 15 minutes.
In separate
bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add Coach’s
Oats to milk and let soak for 15 minutes. Add eggs, sugar, oil, applesauce and
vanilla to oatmeal and mix well. Stir in dry ingredients until fully combined.
Fill mini
muffin tins with batter and top with desired amount of blueberries (press into
top of muffins if desired) and bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until the mixture is
