‘Tis the season! It’s time to deck the halls with bowls of
oatmeal! Here are three festive oatmeal recipes to make your mornings bright.
(Note: These recipes used Mrs. Coach’s recipe, but easily could use the
traditional serving.)
Peppermint Hot Cocoa Oatmeal
·
¼ cup Coach’s Oats®· ¾ cup low fat milk (rice, soy, cow, etc.)
· Splash of peppermint extract
· 1 ½ Tbsp. dark cocoa powder
· Dark chocolate chips for topping
· Crushed candy cane for garnish
Add milk and cocoa powder to a small saucepan and bring to a
boil, stirring frequently. Add in oats as soon as milk boils and reduce heat.
Stir in splash of extract and cook for 5 minutes. Pour in a bowl and top with
chocolate chips and candy cane (marshmallows would be great, as well).
Sugar Cookie Oatmeal
· ¼ cup Coach’s Oats®
· ¾ cup water
· 1 bag Sugar Cookie tea
· Toppings of your choice
Heat water and add tea bag. Let tea brew for at least 2
minutes. Remove tea bag and add oats. Microwave for 3 ½ minutes at 70% power. Add a splash of milk and
sprinkles, of course! (This comes out delicious, not super sweet, but I didn’t need
to add sweetener).
Eggnog Oatmeal
· ¼ cup Coach’s Oats®
· ¾ cup liquid (2 parts light eggnog, 1 part milk)
· Cinnamon
· Nutmeg
· Raisins
Add eggnog and milk to a small saucepan and bring to boil.
Add oats, spices (add your preference) and a handful of raisins and reduce
heat. Garnish with a sprinkle of more
spices! Print recipes
